Therefore my current idea of a setup would be: -35mm f1.4 for portrait and low light street photography. -18-55 as an all-rounder (landscape, street, travel) -50-230 for landscape and sports/wildlife (I very rarely shoot these so the XC works fine for me) -Maybe getting the Fujinon 10-24mm in the future to get those extra mm in landscape shooting.
Press release: Fujifilm Introduces FUJINON XF18-120mmF4 LM PZ WR Lens. Hybrid Broadcast/Video/Photo Lens a First for X Series. Valhalla, N.Y., May 31, 2022 – FUJIFILM North America Corporation today announced the launch of FUJINON XF18-120mmF4 LM PZ WR lens (XF18-120mmF4 LM PZ WR), specifically designed for photographers, filmmakers, and image-makers creating both stills and video.
From samples, the Sigma has more color fringing and the bokeh isn't as nice, while the Sony 16-55 has almost no fringing in most situations. The 16-55 is also better sealed, and has more physical controls. However, it is pretty heavy (although not uncomfortably so) and is obviously a lot more expensive.
This review has just been added and I have to say the results are somewhat underwhelming. Resolution is very close to the 18-55mm at similar focus lengths and apertures. My experience suggests the 16-55mm is noticeably sharper, but this may be down to differences in micro-contrast and rendering.
Fujifilm’s XF16-55mmF2.8 R LM WR is one of Fujifilm’s attempts to pull working professionals over to the system with high-quality versatile lens offerings. Not everyone shoots with small fast prime lenses, and many working professionals rely day-in-day-out on their standard and telephoto zoom lenses to get the job done. The 16-55mmF2.8 is just that - a standard zoom that gets the job done
Thread resurrection, I realise, but I have found the same issue with an X-H1 and 16-55 f2.8. I had been routinely using back button focusing and with the recently-acquired 16-55, was noticing inaccurate focus on a regular basis. Eventually noticed that the focus problems seem to abate when using AF-S and Shutter AF ON.
Fujinon XF 16-55mm f2.8 sample images. Sample images taken with a Fujifilm XF 16-55mm f2.8 mounted on a Fujifilm XT1 body. Lens Optimisation Optimiser was enabled for all images. These are all JPEGs straight out of camera. These samples and comparisons are part of my XF 16-55mm f2.8 review at:
The 16-55mm f/2.8 got off to a solid start in testing, producing its strongest results at 16mm. At f/2.8 it's already razor-sharp in the center, resolving over 2,100 lines in the middle. That drops a bit to around 1,850 lines in the midpoint regions, but it holds strong at 1,450 lines in the corner.
